We are #blessed
I cannot believe it is already another P day. They are serious when they say that days feel like weeks and weeks feel like days. TIME FLIES! I have already been gone for over 2 months!!
It hasn’t been the most successful of weeks, but that is okay. We are really struggling to find people to teach but i know they will come. I HAVE FAITH! Sister Diamond pulled a tendon in her foot so we can’t do a lot of walking (which is a blessing and a curse since we are definitely in a heat wave right now). I feel like this week has been a week we really got to focus on us and our companionship. You gotta get your flow going so you can really work together as effectively as possible. We are totally getting the hang of being in a trio and really coming to enjoy it. My companions really are some of my best friends now. We could just sit and talk for hours, but the work must progress!!!
We got to meet our new Mission President this week which was AWESOME!! I love President Hammon and his wife!!!!!! I am super excited to get to know them better and work with them. They are a very different dynamic from our last Mission President.
We have met a lot of awesome people this week and heard some amazing stories. It is so surreal to me to be sitting in the homes of so many diverse people and listening to them, learning from them, and teaching them. It’s crazy to think that i can have the confidence and knowledge to talk to all these people. It is such a privilege to be a missionary. Like we are SO BLESSED!
I was reading in Mosiah this week where they are trying to kill Abinadi. He has a very important message to share to these people and was commanded to share it. It is so important for these people to hear that he is protected and cannot be killed. I love how in Mosiah 13:3 he says “Touch me not, for God shall smite you if ye lay your hands upon me, for I have not delivered the message which the Lord sent me to deliver; neither have I told you that which ye requested that I should tell; therefore, God will not suffer that I shall be destroyed at this time”. That is true for Abinadi as a missionary, and can be true for us too – we have a very important message that we need to share with everyone and we are being protected and watched over. God is not going to let us be hurt or put us in danger or stopped from doing this great work, if we listen to the Spirit. I have definitely gained a testimony of that this week.
Sunday was full of tender mercies. The men in our ward are so helpful and really make sure that we are protected and safe. They even got our whole dinner calendar filled up so we don’t have to worry for the rest of the month! So many little things have happened this week that have just added up to make me so appreciative and feel so blessed. BEING A MISSIONARY IS AWESOME!!!! I am really trying to get through the Book of Mormon as fast as I can, and mark it up, and keep a good study journal. The Book of Mormon, when you truly study it, really does come to life and tell you exactly what you need to hear. I have such a strong testimony in this!!
We all tried to match on the 4th of July in our blue and white stripes (we tried our best). we were also cleaning out the closets of our apartment (which are FULL of stuff missionaries left behind). I found a cute lil white hat haha. I probably will never wear it out of the apartment, but maybe??! Also, like every single day is the most beautiful sunset you will ever see. cameras really cannot capture it at all (especially my cheap lil mission one)
I hope everyone has a great week!!! read the Book of Mormon, its good for you haha!
