California Riverside Mission

the church is true, the book is blue

the church is true, the book is blue

This week has been quite the week. Not much has gone on in our lil missionary world this week but we are still lovin every single day. The weather here has been a bit wild so not a lot of people have been home or outside. Its been randomly raining A LOT. We swear this little back rain cloud just follows us. It’ll be clear blue skies all around us and everywhere we go, just that single dark cloud. I’d take that over what has been going on around the other parts of the world though.

I feel like the focus this week has been all about the Book of Mormon… AGAIN. It is just the best, – what else can i say! This week I finally finished it for the first time on my mission and I have been SO excited. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. There is no doubt in my mind. It seriously is my favorite book. Sister Diamond and I both restarted reading it again and are flying though it. I’ve been reading it for only a couple of days and I’m already done with 1 Nephi. We seriously CRAVE reading it. Every spare second Sister Diamond and I have we are reading it. The spirit that you feel while reading it is like no other. Something someone said to us this week that I loved is that, “Sure the Old and New Testament are amazing. I love reading it and I get so much out of it. But, when I read the Book of Mormon, it’s like I’m thirsty and finally drinking water again”. I want to share the Book of Mormon with everyone. No matter what problem you are facing, the Book of Mormon can help you. Seriously, if you are not reading the Book of Mormon right now, just try it out. And if you don’t have one, ask me! I would be more than happy to send ANYONE one. It is my favorite book. It is the reason I am out here in California doing what I’m doing. It has made me so happy and I want to share it with everyone.

We also had the opportunity to work on a really cool service project this week. There is this lady nearby who owns a HUGE multi-million dollar property. It has overtime become very overgrown and unmanaged and is just crazy. All of the missionaries in the area, and a bunch of church members, were able to go over on Saturday morning and completely clean it out. We were cutting down trees, raking up piles of leaves, cleaning up trash, and just kind of grooming the entire property. The before and after pictures are INCREDIBLE. I wish I had them… We left early but the Elders spent basically the entire morning working. We easily filled up over 50 huge trash bags. It was such a cool project to be a part of.

But yeah, other than that, it was a rather uneventful week. Lots and lots of walking trying to find people to talk to 🙂 Lovin’ that missionary life!! Next week is about to be super busy to make up for this not as crazy week.

I love all of you guys! I hope you all have the best week.

Love, Sister Rossignoli

PS: I’m serious, if anyone wants a Book of Mormon, shoot me an email or something. I am more than happy to give you one.
