California Riverside Mission

Transfer calls happened this Saturday!!!  But for the first time ever, they were not too crazy.  Sister Van and I are both staying here in Lake Elsinore and we are still on bikes……. haha!!  The best news ever though is that I am going to be a Grandma!!  Yes, Sister Moffit is training!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (I trained her and now she is training a new missionary)  WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!  I am soooooo proud of her!!!  So so so sooooo so so proud!!!  They grow up so fast :'( hehe!!! I love her!!!

The craziest thing that happened this week was that we completely redrew our area. Our area, for bikes, was MASSIVE!! It got to the point where we just could not do it.  We covered farmland in Perris (where we met the two 650 pound pigs) all the way down to Lake Elsinore. It was easily 25 miles from top to bottom.  NOT possible for Sister Van and I on bikes, though we had tried.  Sister Van and I sat down with a blank map of the area.  We prayed and asked God to show us what our area should look like.  Following the prayer, we opened our eyes and looked at the map.  Sister Van immediately said “our area seriously looks like a pig”.  Our ward boundaries literally look exactly like a pig.  We started cracking up.  We asked Heavenly Father to show us what our area should look like and he made us see a pig.  That was our sign that we needed to work in Perris.  We have always felt drawn to this Perris area and felt like we needed to be there.  Now we have finally committed.  We gave up a really really good area to the elders and we took the sparse farmland.  It is quite the bold change but we are excited to start working.  We had a multi-stake conference where some of the leaders of the Church broadcast to all of Southern California.  In the conference, Elder Christofferson said “in the service of the Lord, it is not WHERE you serve but HOW”.  It doesn’t matter what our area is, all that matters is that we work HARD.  We are going to give it our absolute ALL this transfer.  We know that miracles are going to happen.  We are soooooo excited.

Life is good.  I am happy.  Above is a picture of me basking in the California sun in January.  Below is a picture of the missionaries in my zone.

Love you guys!!
